Frequently Asked Questions

At Indivisible TX-02, we understand that you may have questions about our organization, activities, and how to get involved. Below, we've compiled answers to help you understand our mission and how you can make a difference.

The name comes from the Pledge of Allegiance - 'one nation, indivisible.' We believe in the power of unity and collective action to create positive change. Indivisible TX-02 is part of a nationwide grassroots movement with thousands of local groups working to elect progressive leaders and rebuild our democracy.

No, we are a grassroots advocacy organization. While we support progressive candidates and causes, we are not affiliated with any political party. We focus on holding elected officials accountable regardless of party affiliation and advocating for policies that benefit our communities.

Texas Congressional District 2 encompasses parts of Houston and surrounding communities, currently represented by Rep. Dan Crenshaw. Our district faces challenges around healthcare access, economic inequality, climate change, and voting rights that we actively work to address.

We are a local chapter of the national Indivisible movement, which provides strategic guidance, training resources, coordination on national campaigns, and support for local group development. This connection gives us access to proven tactics and a powerful nationwide network.

Not at all! We welcome people from all backgrounds and experience levels. We provide training and support to help you become an effective advocate. Many of our most active members started with no political experience.

You can participate as much or as little as your schedule allows. Some members attend monthly meetings, others join specific campaigns or actions. We have opportunities ranging from one-time actions to ongoing leadership roles.

We organize town halls, voter registration drives, advocacy campaigns, protests, community meetings, training workshops, and accountability actions. We also coordinate with other organizations on shared priorities and support local progressive candidates.

Join our mailing list to receive updates about actions, events, and ways to make a difference in TX-02. We also use social media and our website to share information about urgent issues and opportunities to get involved.

We primarily focus on holding Rep. Dan Crenshaw accountable, but we also work on issues involving Dan Patrick, Ted Cruz, Greg Abbott, and other Texas elected officials. We monitor their voting records and organize responses to harmful policies.

We advocate for healthcare access, voting rights protection, climate action, social justice, economic equality, and democratic reforms. We also respond to urgent issues as they arise and coordinate with the national movement on key campaigns.

We attend town halls to ask tough questions, organize protests and demonstrations, monitor legislative activity, coordinate calling campaigns, and work to educate voters about their representatives' records. We believe in making our voices heard through strategic pressure.

We've successfully challenged Rep. Crenshaw at town halls on his voting record, registered over 200 new voters in underrepresented communities, and launched comprehensive advocacy campaigns on healthcare access. We continue building progressive power throughout our district.

We rely on donations from members and supporters, along with occasional grants. We are committed to transparency in our funding and operations. All donations go directly to supporting our organizing efforts, events, and community outreach programs.

We are a volunteer-led organization with sub-groups throughout the district focused on specific communities and issues. We hold regular meetings, coordinate actions through working groups, and make decisions democratically with input from all members.

Yes! If there isn't already an active group in your specific community within TX-02, we can help you connect with neighbors and start organizing. The national Indivisible organization provides resources and support for new group formation.

We build coalitions with like-minded organizations, participate in joint campaigns, and coordinate on shared priorities. We believe in the power of unity and work collaboratively while maintaining our independent voice and mission.
